Supplies needed

You will need:

  • 9 buttons, 9 to 10 mm in diameter
  • 20 cm medium fusible interfacing
  • Main fabric:
    ‣ 150 cm x 140 cm width for sizes 34-38
    ‣ 160 cm x 140 cm width for sizes 40-44
    ‣ 200 cm x 140 cm width for sizes 46-48
    ‣ 230 cm x 140 cm width for sizes 50-52

Fabric & upcycling tips

Recommended fabrics:

  • Use a light to medium weight fabric (50-250g/m²), such as cotton, poplin or Oxford woven cotton.

Ideas for creating an upcycled shirt:

  • Reuse embroidered sheets and vintage tablecloths.
  • For the front pocket as well as the collar stand, cuffs... Feel free to use your fabric scraps.
  • You can also oversize the shirt to make an overshirt.
