Fabric & upcycling tips

Recommended fabrics:

  • For outdoor use: choose a medium to medium-heavyweight fabric (220 to 350 g/m²) such as wool, velvet, cotton, or gabardine.
  • For the lining: opt for a thin and fluid fabric, such as viscose or a light cotton, which will make it easier to put on and provide more comfort.

Ideas for creating a puffer jacket using upcycling:

  • Thick vintage curtains, old blankets, throws, or even reclaimed down will bring warmth and structure to the room
  • For the lining, you can use sheets or your fabric scraps (don't hesitate to let your creativity shine with patterns and colors, it will give character to your jacket)
  • This jacket pattern requires a significant amount of fabric. If your fabric scraps are too small to make one of the pattern pieces, you can combine them with a second fabric (or as many different fabrics as you like). The patchwork technique will be your ally.
