But before putting our precious vintage fabrics up for sale, a rigorous process is followed.
The first step: selection:
Every two months, our team actively explores sorting centers, searching for textile treasures to repurpose. These facilities collect approximately 20 tons of textiles daily through collection points scattered across France (more than 22,000 in total). People deposit clothing, decorative items such as sheets, curtains, tablecloths, and shoes that they no longer want. These fabrics are then sorted and either sold on secondary markets, destroyed, recycled, or end up in open landfills. And that's where we come in. Our mission is to find high-quality raw materials, especially cotton, adorned with unique and vintage patterns... to give them a second life.
The second step: the treatment:
After purchase, we begin a meticulous processing procedure to breathe new life into these textiles, transforming them into ready-to-use fabric pieces. We start by removing decorative elements such as linings, curtain rings, and so on. Then, we move on to the essential steps of washing and air drying. Finally, the fabrics are measured, as each piece is unique, and ironed. Currently, all these operations are carried out manually. For this, we collaborate with socially responsible partners, including vocational training centers and companies that support people with disabilities.
Third Step: Categorization & Reuse:
Once processed, these vintage fabrics that we fell in love with are categorized. We can use them for our clothing production (for example, for our Simone sweatshirt ), for our sewing kits , or, when they are unique or in small quantities, offer them to you as fabric remnants. They will be perfect for creating unique and meaningful clothing and accessories.
