Fabric & upcycling tips

Recommended fabrics:

  • For a summer version, a lightweight cotton (poplin, voile, batiste, percale) of 100 to 150 g/m² is ideal. For a breathable version, opt for linen, ramie, or Tencel of 150 to 200 g/m².

Ideas for creating the dress using upcycling:

  • Vintage cotton sheets and tablecloths to maintain the dress's structure
  • The facings can be made from a different fabric (from scraps of colored or uncolored fabric)
  • The details of the dress, particularly the front cutout, can be enhanced with antique ribbons or braids.
